Carl Olsen's take on a annoying Time article
is great. Of course the modernist types have been doing that to Tolkien since 1954. I take the fact that the movies are getting this type of reaction as a positive sign. It means they may actually be reflecting the book properly !
What's really funny is the typical way the Time writer assumes that if one believes in good and evil, one is therefore a simpleton who sees people as immutably good or bad. (Boromir, anyone ? )
